Star Walk in the ghoul holidays

Cosplay legends from Wicked, Ghostbusters, princesses, Star Wars, Transformers, Potter, superheroes and villains are set to invade Trinity Walk shopping centre in Wakefield so get into the spirit this Halloween across two full free days of fun, Friday October 31 (last day of school half term) and Saturday November 1.

Experience our cars/props/free face painting from 10am-4pm and characters 11am-3.30pm (with breaks). It’s all free, but kind donations gratefully received for Forget Me Not children’s hospice ideally via cash in official buckets or by card at the charity’s shop.

Come face-to-face with icons from cosplay and costume groups including CPM Entertainers, Stark Industry Entertainment, Magical Moments, Cosmaniacs, UK Garrison, Mando2Hire, Up In Smoke, Red Cape, Yorkshire Spiderman, Lee B, Dino Mike, Mascot Mayhem, Masquerade and more.

With vehicles from Coopers Classic Cars, Red Cape, CPM and Dino Mike.

Favourite cosplay characters

Meet the UK’s only Mando with speeder bike, magical characters from Potter, plus Deadpool, The Thing, the Hulk, Maleficent, Starlord, Elsa, Fairy Godmother, Elphaba, Barbies, a Headless Ghost, Dino Mike’s baby dinosaurs…and more across the two days.

There’s even a free treat trail for kids in costume on Halloween, so see below for more.

Don’t forget, be part of this array of characters with free face painting 10am to 4pm both days near Costa thanks to the talented Donna’s Face Painting.

Donations by cash in buckets or contactless card very much appreciated at the face painting station for our charity partner Forget Me Not children’s hospice who support families across Wakefield and West Yorkshire.

And there’s more…

Movie cars & props

Both days will see an amazing Ghost-bustin’ Ecto1 car alongside a giant 8 metre tall Stay Puft marshmallow man!

Potter fans should look out for the Quidditch broom photo opp and Platform 9 3/4 too!

We’ll also be revving up the action with a Bumblebee Camaro, Lightning McQueen, Jurassic Park jeep and The King each day.

Times

Reminder, this free event runs 10am to 4pm both days. Cars and face painting run 10am to 4pm. Characters will be out from around 11am to around 3.30pm with breaks. Characters wander so will be all over the centre and times will vary, so it’s all just for guidance.

Free treat trail

Kids are encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters and if they do, pay a visit to the various stores hosting our treat bowls (store names to be released soon).

All kids just need to do is visit with an adult, find the bowl and say to a staff member “Can I have a Trinity treat please?”.

Cue sweet enjoyment. It’s all while stocks last and only on Halloween, Friday October 31 (not the Saturday, they’ll have all been eaten!).

Characters and cars

Please note that all characters are cosplay and/or mascots and props and cars are fan-made replicas. This event relies on many volunteers, so all characters, images and posters are for guidance only and all characters, props and cars are subject to change without notice. So don’t be disappointed if Deadpool gets a cold or Spidey has the flu. Although we do sell Lemsip and Olbas Oil, so…

The weather won’t stop us as we have a large roof – so even if it’s a bit wet, we’ll be on.

Visiting with additional needs

Star Walk is awesome and everyone is welcome. Apart from criminals and anti-social behaviour which as you all now, we have a zero tolerance approach on.

Everyone else, come on down! If you have visitors with additional needs and want to find out more or need a little extra help, just get in touch through our contact us page on the website and we’ll do our best to help.

Star Walk does get busy, but the quietest times are from 10am and just before 4pm. Trinity Walk is a spacious open air centre, with two main malls covered by a high roof. So there’s always a place to find space.

It’s flat and accessible for almost everyone, so pushchairs, mobility scooters and wheelchairs are no problem. We have two large accessible/family toilets, and two main toilets blocks. Baby changing is available in our accessible toilets and in all our coffee shops too.
