New escalators are coming

Hi folks, good news – we’re getting new escalators!

They will be installed, hopefully, this autumn as the current ones are around 15-years-old and the new ones will be even more robust.

As you’ll imagine, this will be a big job (and at times weather dependent) so the escalators up and down will be out of action for up to around 8 weeks from September 14 while work is completed.

Worry not though, lovely shopper. While the escalators are being installed, our two large passenger lifts and staircase will give everyone access to where you need to go with arrows to help you.

So there’ll still be full access via our two big lifts and stairs to and from the car park and up to the mall featuring New Look, Costa, Timpson, Supercuts, The Entertainer, Room 97, Forget Me Not and Givebox as well as the toilets.

Alternatively you can move between the car parks and main malls via Teall Passage which runs down the side of Sports Direct and pops you out near Asda Living and Sanctuary.

We’ll keep you posted on key installation milestones (boring, but important).

Just a reminder to always remain still on the escalators and travelator and hold onto the rail, don’t run or walk up/down them, never EVER try and put a bike or scooter on them (that’s just wrong) and use the lifts if you have a pram, wheelchair, mobility scooter or similar equipment.
