Primark will move to a new location in Wakefield, where the retailer’s new store will occupy the former Debenham’s unit at Trinity Walk.
While there is no set reopening date for the new Wakefield store, more updates are expected later this year.
The newly relocated Primark store will be set across one floor and covering 30,000 sq. ft of retail space. It will feature the same quality fashion at great value prices that Primark is known and loved for, with a fresh new look and feel.
The new location represents continued investment by Primark in the heart of Wakefield.
All 70 colleagues in Primark’s Wakefield store team, including 9 managers, are expected to move with the store from its current location in The Ridings Shopping Centre, with its exact store closure timing still to be confirmed. The shopping centre is due to be redeveloped as part of the local council’s city regeneration plans.

Primark operates 199 stores in the UK, including its most recent store opening last month in Epsom, Surrey.
Meanwhile, 2.3 million people every week cite Primark as the main reason for visiting their local high street, and for every £10 spent in a Primark, shoppers spend an additional £3.60 which produces a positive economic ripple effect for local high streets*.
